About the role

Group Director, Client Data Product Owner

At Chanel, we are focused on creating an inclusive culture that nurtures personal growth, contributing to collective progress. We believe the uniqueness of each individual increases the diversity, complementarity, and effectiveness of our teams. We strongly encourage your application, as we value the perspective, experience and potential you could bring to CHANEL.

About the role:

Towards our long-lasting ambition to develop client-centric strategies, CHANEL is looking for our new Group Director, Client Data Product Owner, to join our data team in the Digital and CX department, based in New York City. The creation of this new position within CHANEL US follows our strategic direction to accelerate the usage of our client data platforms (mainly but not only relying on Salesforce Data Cloud) for our 3 divisions: Fragrance and Beauty, Fashion, and Watches & Fine Jewelry. This Group Director, Client Data Product Owner position, in strong partnership with CHANEL Tech, will play a pivotal role in maximizing the usage of our client data platform for the client intelligence and marketing teams, steering the spending of our corporate budget and resources allocations, attending and representing our 3 divisions on data corporate governance meetings to ensure that all global and regional initiatives are fitting our US division’s needs.

This role is at the intersection of Tech and our 3 divisions. Our ideal Client Data Product Owner candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in complex client or data product ownership & project management with a passion for navigating a matrix organization where leadership by influence is a key success factor

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

Platform Ownership & Delivery

  • Act as the main business liaison for US client data platforms: Looker Analytics, Global Client Database (post-release 3.2 including analytics capabilities), and Salesforce Data Cloud (CDP)

  • Manage intake of new projects, backlog of requests, and platform evolution planning

  • Represent the US business voice in cross-regional meetings, offering solution-driven options and recommendations for sponsor decision-making

  • Ensure project delivery is on time, within budget, and meets quality standards

  • Global Client Database Collaboration: This role works closely with the Fashion teams to attend key meetings and leads all preparatory work across business teams—performing the heavy lifting with appropriate divisional approvals to ensure readiness and alignment

CRM System Optimization

  • Drive efficiencies across the 3 divisions by coordinating CRM system evolutions (e.g., sprint planning, corporate story point allocation, cross-division best practice sharing)

  • Maximize delivery output while respecting budget constraints

  • Support business teams in crafting effective briefs for third-party vendors to ensure solutions
