Meet the team:
The Sensor Design and Development team drives sensor design for current and future biosensing products for Research and Development. We are part of the R&D organization that designs products that make a positive impact to our users every day. The team has membership across many disciplines and experience levels, for a dynamic team environment where the diverse backgrounds lead to innovative solutions. This role will lead technical projects and provide subject matter expertise focused on the sensor substrate and its design.
Where you come in:
You are a subject matter expert on materials for the sensor, particularly metallic and other electrode materials, and will use that knowledge to explore new sensor designs, support current products, and improve existing sensor designs.
You will drive understanding of how the sensor interacts with other aspects of the sensing system to provide holistic understanding of how material properties impact sensor performance.
You will lead cross-functional teams focused on sensor and substrate design, marrying your expertise with other subject matter expert’s knowledge to improve products and innovate on new sensing opportunities.
You will design experiments on the bench and partner with pre-clinical and clinical colleagues to characterize how sensor design impacts sensor performance and solve specific sensor issues.
You will organize and compile data from disparate streams for analysis and communication to a variety of audiences.
You will prepare documentation and deliverables under the Design Control process to support sensor design activities throughout the R&D lifecycle.
What makes you successful:
You bring materials knowledge to the forefront to influence sensor design, with a background in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field, with significant experience in medical device, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry.
You have expertise in metallurgy, with a strong background in material characterization.
You are adept at self-directed projects, managing project teams, timelines, and cross-functional relationships in an R&D environment.
You have excellent technical writing skills for writing protocols, technical reports, and experimental designs.
You communicate clearly and concisely and will participate in teams both within R&D and with our Ops partners, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills for effective management of working relationships.
You can think creatively to solve complex problems and apply innovative solutions to sensor substrate design, including continuous improvements to current and future designs.

Experience and Education Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelors degree in computer science/engineering or related field, and a minimum of 13+ years related experience or a Masters degree and 8+ years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 5+ years of experience.
