Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer (VP CCO) and in collaboration with the compliance program directors and managers, the Senior Compliance Program Manager (SCPM) works closely with key Fred Hutch stakeholders including Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit, Business Development, Human Resources, Office of the General Counsel, Clinical Research Support, Information Security and others across the enterprise to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and Fred Hutch policies. The SCPM will implement, oversee, and manage the Audit & Monitoring Compliance Program. The audit and monitoring initiatives and responsibilities are a major element of the institution’s enterprise compliance program and required under the federal and state compliance regulations and guidances. This role shall also coordinate effectively with various departments, develop and prepare coordinated responses, corrective action, reporting and ensure uniformity and continuity of policy and regulatory application and enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and oversees the Auditing & Monitoring Compliance Program. This involves assessing and prioritizing key risk areas, development of auditing workplans, conducting audits and reporting findings to stakeholders and institutional leadership including but not limited to department and division leaders, Directors, Vice Presidents, and members of the Board. Key compliance areas include regulatory compliance with federal and state laws and contractual requirements involving Conflicts of Interest, Fraud, Waste and Abuse, privacy, as well as other research and clinical care laws and regulations.
- Monitors legal and regulatory changes and interprets and disseminates information on regulatory and Compliance matters to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
- Provides ongoing resources and advice to team and management relating to auditing, monitoring and corrective action matters as it relates to compliance issues.
- Contributes to the development of compliance training materials and delivery of training to multiple audiences.
- Supports the activities of the Compliance Committee, and implementation of the Compliance work plan.
- Develops metrics, annual reports and corrective action initiatives. Works to ensure Compliance practices are consistently followed across the organization and throughout delegated entities.

Qualifications
- Minimum Master's degree in Health Care, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy, or other related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in legal, health care compliance, enterprise risk or other research and healthcare fields required; experience as compliance officer in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of compliance-related federal and state research and healthcare laws and regulations such as Fraud, Waste and Abuse violations, Anti-Kickback and Stark law provisions required.
- Highest degree of credibility, integrity and discretion.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management methods and tools.
