About the role

Job Summary:

Has the overall responsibility to serve as the strategic interface for the purpose of business architecture, application architecture, data architecture and solution discovery. They are to take a lead role in preparing the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of people, process and technology. The Lead will be responsible to support the development and implementation of the operational technology plan to manage the transmission and distribution asset lifecycle.

Job Description:

  • Evaluate and develop OT business component models, applications architecture models, application integration models and master data management models.

  • Evaluate, define and prepare to implement internal Enterprise Architecture standards, guilding principles, policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate across the organization to facilitate the development of the OT plan to:

  • Ensure the programs are aligned with the business strategy;

  • Identify specific projects and timing; and

  • Develop annual budgets for respective business areas.

  • Evaluate and help prepare an OT asset management plan.

  • Evaluate and develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.

  • Consolidates and prioritizes business needs in alignment with business priorities and industry direction

  • Perform architectural assessments and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.

  • Support preparation to launch new solutions.

  • Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans and OT strategies.

  • Work with other workstreams as needed to evaluate business & technology solutions and evaluate service providers.

  • Develop and prepare to implement a shared project implementation model.

  • Identifies and manages business and solution risks associated with projects

  • Evalute and help develop or refine the operational accounting for business and technology solutions.

  • Evalaluate and help develop of short and long term operating and financial objectives for the division.

  • Evalauate and build solid working relationships with OT service providers and vendors.

  • Evaluate and monitor the “quality” process within all areas of responsibility, assuring that every aspect of workforce, processes and standards, equipment, and services meet or exceed customer expectations and are consistent with the quality goals of the company.

  • Prepare to implement a best in class approach to OT, including market and competitor research and analysis through to builiding a strategic framework for OT.

  • Prepare to implement strategy to transition OT from current organization to the new organization.

  • Support review and evaluate current employee policies, procedures and any applicable handbooks to identify gaps and enhance where needed.

  • Support the development of a department-specific people strategy, including the number of roles required. Criteria to determine the number of required employees to include: Requirements of the Operator organization structure; Workload; Process changes; and Customer needs.

Additional Job Description:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Certificate in IT or related field.

  • 15+ years related work experience.

  • Proficient skills in the use of computer applications (MS Office). Experience with programs such as Microsoft Project or other project planning software an asset.

  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization through various means such as email, phone, video conferencing, and in-person. Strong ability to develop and deliver effective presentations and faciliate meetings as related to strategy, training, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Experience effectively utilizing business systems to achieve results.

  • Training and experience managing large projects with financial and business risk.

  • Strong leadership skills
