Senior Director of Engineering (Entrata, Inc., Lehi, UT)
Provide technical leadership and vision in designing, building, testing, and delivering software solutions. Ensure delivery of high-quality engineering by improving best practices and producing best in class codes, documentation, testing, and monitoring. Work with architects to ensure a sound technical strategy through code design improvements, ensure database architecture alignment with a master data management policy, and balance feature delivery with stability, reduction of technical debt, and improve code quality. Own the technical roadmap and management of technical debt. Evaluate and propose new technologies, frameworks, and architectures as necessary. Build a strong team through actively participating in recruitment activities including sourcing ideal candidates, screening, and interviewing, and thoughtfully contributing to hiring decisions. Partner with product management and design to help shape product features by considering technical feasibilities. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to partner with product management and design to help shape product features by considering technical feasibilities. Remain entrepreneurial and ambitious with the evolution of his products. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to 4205 Chapel Ridge Rd, Lehi, UT 84043. Salary: $200,000 - $234,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as Architect, Senior Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving designing and delivering software solutions. Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience designing, building, testing, and delivering software solutions and improving best practices; 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript, Java, or Python to work on distributed services (including Agile or Scrum); 5 years of professional experience leading or managing engineering teams; 3 years of professional experience utilizing PHP or PostgreSQL.
