Senior Material Handler

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Senior Material Handler to join our growing team.

 

Requirements:

• Complying with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Proof req’d)
• Must have valid lift truck operator’s competency certificate
• Must have a diploma attesting to completion of high school education or equivalent
• Must have a valid G-class or higher driver’s license
• Previous demonstrable work experience within the construction services, lumber or other bulk product material handling environment
• Previous manufacturing experience is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to operate applicable electric or propane-powered counterbalance and/or reach material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to complete reports accurately and legibly
• Good English language oral and written communication skills
• Team player, strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform a daily pre-shift inspection of the powered lift truck equipment, complete the daily inspection log and advise the Maintenance Manager of any deficiencies
• Operate equipment/machinery following all established safety procedures
• Load and unload transports
• Manipulate racks, pallets and materials
• Monitor quality of material and product being handled and report any deficiencies to the Purchasing Manager
• Ensure that material is stored in appropriate/designated storage areas
• Ensure accuracy of material picked and supplied to the plant
• Maintain housekeeping/cleaning of equipment and around assigned work area
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, as applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
