Accounting Associate

The Accounting Associate is responsible for accurate and timely payment of all invoices. The Accounting Associate will work in tandem with staff accountants to ensure all invoices are coded accurately and will maintain proper documentation for vendor files, organize records and files, and make bank deposits to ensure timely and proper payment to vendors and easily accessible, up to date files. 

What you have already achieved: (Requirements) 

• Degree in Accounting preferred 
• Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage multiple projects 
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision 
• Proven abilities in researching and resolving problems 
• Ability and desire to work in a collaborative, dynamic environment 
• Strong desire to improve a process in order to complete tasks more efficiently

What you are great at: (Responsibilities)

• Process accounts payable using AppFolio accounting systems.
• Consistent follow-through to ensure timely DLP invoice approvals are achieved and proactively monitor payment due date to ensure timely payments. 
• Verify accuracy of all vendor invoices and proper DLP approvals, including proper selection and coding of the appropriate general ledger account. 
• Process deposits and record receipts if needed.
• Complete variance analysis on properties.
• Mailing and distribution of payments.
• Maintaining organized records and paid bill files.
• Research check backup to verify payments.
• Cut checks.
