Position Summary:
As a head coach of the Varsity Golf team, the selected candidate is expected to develop the skills that are in line with the values, standards, goals, and excellence of a Golf program. Your duties as head coach requires you to provide the integration of McGill's values, standards, and goals with respect to student life and learning, as well as complete various McGill administrative tasks regarding eligibility, scholarship requirements, Workday timesheet approval, and performance logs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assess and help players on their athletic performance and skills.
Schedule practices and drills to prepare them to perform well in every game.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the golf program including opens, practices, compliance, budgets, academics, student conduct and development.
Supervise assistant coaches, oversee scheduling, approve payroll, conduct performance evaluations.
Scouting/ recruiting for potential team members.
Act as a mentor and guide by supervising athletes during practices and directing them in matches. This involves one-on-one instructions and encouragement to keep the players motivated.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
English and French. Demonstrated communication skills and ability to interact with all facets of an individual. NCCP Level II or equivalent. Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level.
