Student Worker- Summer Resident Assistant

Join our team as a Summer Resident Assistant, playing a crucial role in fostering a positive and supportive living environment for residents during the summer. This position involves conducting daily building walkthroughs, addressing resident concerns, and contributing to a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere. In exchange for your service, you will receive free housing for the duration of the summer.

Responsibilities:
1. Daily Building Walkthrough:
? Perform a thorough daily walkthrough of the residential facility to identify and report any maintenance issues, safety concerns, or policy violations.
? Ensure common areas are well-maintained and report any cleaning or maintenance needs.
2. Administrative Tasks:
? Check-in with Missy once a week during the summer
? Check-in with the AC-on-call once a week during the summer
? Maintain an understanding of all residents on-campus
? Work directly with Missy to coordinate check-ins and check-outs as needed
3. Resident Interaction:
? Serve as a point of contact for summer residents, addressing inquiries, concerns, and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
? Submit facility requests as they arise
? Promote adherence to community guidelines and policies. Reporting issues as
they arise to Campus Safety.

4. Emergency Response:
? Be familiar with and follow emergency procedures, serving as a resource during crisis situations.
? Communicate effectively with residents in emergencies and collaborate with campus security or emergency services as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:
? Currently enrolled at GU.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to handle conflicts diplomatically.
? Responsible, reliable, and committed to the well-being of the residential community
