About the role

HealthPartners is hiring for a Program Manager, Business Insurance. This position is responsible for the implementation and ongoing administration of the HealthPartners business insurance program under the direction of the Senior Director of Risk Management. The business insurance program includes purchasing insurance on behalf of the organization and implementing strategies to decrease the organization’s risk from loss events.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Implement and maintain a comprehensive business insurance program to ensure appropriate coverage cross multiple lines of insurance

Develop and maintain insurance broker relationship

Ensure completeness and accuracy of information needed for insurance actuarial report

Facilitate information gathering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure insurance needs are met

Ensure completeness and accuracy of insurance-related documents, including schedule of property locations, property statement of values, and fleet inventory

Gather loss exposure data and ensure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of insurance applications for annual insurance renewal

Ensure completeness and accuracy of purchased insurance policies

Ensure accuracy of and timely process insurance-related invoices

Ensure organizational compliance with insurance policy requirements

Provide advice on insurance coverage questions

Process requests for insurance certificates and claim history requests

Establish internal processes for reporting loss events (accidents, damage) for insurance reporting

Assist with investigation of loss events

Report insurance claims to insurance companies and manage claims through resolution

Serve as system administrator for claims and litigation management system

Provide claim reports and loss runs as needed

Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies to decrease loss to the organization and enhance risk profile with insurers, including assisting with business continuity program

Review insurance provisions in contracts

Ensure compliance with insurance regulations

Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, Accounting or other related degree

Three years of direct experience managing a program of business insurance or five years of relevant experience in the insurance industry or finance risk management

Ability to:

Establish and maintain excellent communications with internal stakeholders

Facilitate outcomes through others

Give oral presentations regarding insurance topics to a variety of audiences

Gain the cooperation of individuals/departments in sensitive or emotional situations

Deal with ambiguity

Build consensus among individuals and work groups

Research, collect, maintain, and analyze data

Analyze and develop creative and workable solutions to risk-related business situations

Maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Organize and prioritize multiple tasks

Be flexible in duties and work hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate in Risk Management Certification, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), or other relevant certification

Experience administering information databases, including data analysis and trend report writing

DECISION-MAKING:

This position is expected to operate collaboratively in accordance with organizational goals and priorities.

Decisions are made with input from or at the direction of senior leadership.
