JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for driving the strategic growth and tactical execution of Glanbia’s Distribution portfolio through product management across all categories. In addition, this position will proactively work with Premix Product Strategic Managers and other functions to address aging or out of specification materials across the entire premix portfolio. The Product Manager will lead and liaise with cross-functional teams internally and externally to effectively manage and deliver on initiatives and strategies and will serve as a key link between suppliers, customers, and all relevant Glanbia functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities:
- Being a member and leader of cross-functional teams, for example, forming and leading project teams which include members of procurement, supply chain, commercial, marketing and finance to successfully assess opportunities for traded materials and/or implement processes to improve the overall profitability of the business
- Responsible for driving market research to understand and advise on Glanbia Nutritionals position on existing or new traded ingredients
- Provide sales trainings and sales support
- Support the on-boarding of new ingredients to the traded ingredients portfolio
- Perform biannual sku rationalization reviews
- Establish and improve processes and procedures to support the traded portfolio day-to-day activities
- Maintenance and ownership of SAP master data for traded ingredients
- Responsible for monitoring aging inventory levels across the Glanbia premix network to establish a route to market for excess stock [partnerships, etc.]
- Liaison with the Glanbia sales team to answer product specific questions regarding specifications and pricing
- Collaborate with GN Procurement team to vet new opportunities, gain market insights and provide input on purchasing decision for traded portfolio
- Manage RFP’s [Request for Pricing] for traded materials
- Track and report on the success of projects / initiatives related to the traded materials portfolio
- Responsible for developing business cases and clear financial return expectations for various business initiatives related to the traded portfolio
- Collaborates with the Insights team and other sources to build deep market knowledge of the traded business from a customer, consumer, and competitive standpoint in order to fully define the new target markets and opportunities.
- Act as liaison for internal customers (sales, finance, customer service, and purchasing, marketing, operations) for day-to-day product related strategies.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for the portfolio and work with Marketing to generate marketing materials to promote the Traded portfolio
- Maintain pricing for portfolio by understanding key market insights and competitive set, in addition to working closely to with Glanbia Finance and Procurement to understand true costs and margins
- Direct key inventory decisions for stock levels and work closely with logistics team to maintain at a global level
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training:
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred Masters or MBA), preferably in a scientific background (Food Science, Nutrition Science, etc.).
- The ideal candidate must possess excellent interpersonal communication and relationship building skills and an open mind to manage cross-functional teams.
Experience Required:
- 2-5 yrs. related experience within the food and/or ingredients space
