The Graduate Rehab Therapy Assistant will orient to the Rehab Services department and support our rehabilitation therapists in providing high-quality care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or managing chronic conditions. It is expected that the Graduate Rehab Therapy Assistant has completed an accredited associate degree program and is actively pursuing board certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant and/or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.Pay Range: $15.72 - $23.21/hour
Employment Type: Full Time, 80 hours every 2 weeks
Requirements: Associate’s degree in Rehabilitation Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related field, Actively pursuing Board Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, Basic knowledge of rehabilitation principles, techniques, and equipment, Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Essential Functions
- Assist rehabilitation therapists in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic activities.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions under the supervision of licensed therapists.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting activities as directed.
- Provide patients with guidance and encouragement to perform prescribed exercises.
- Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and materials for therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and safety protocols under the guidance of a licensed therapist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, and managing patient appointments.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in rehabilitation therapy.
