HEAD MECHANIC-GROUNDS AND MAINTENANCE -CRDE (FULL-TIME / DAYS)

SUMMARY:            

Responsible for the diagnosis and repair of motorized and hand held equipment issues and will maintain a preventive maintenance program on all grounds equipment according to the Company’s policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Formulate and implement a stringent preventative maintenance program that includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service
• Perform maintenance and repair of all equipment as designated by management.
• Manage the maintenance facility and coordinate all work efforts between mechanics and staff.
• Train all associates on the safe, efficient, and proper operations of all equipment
• Train Assistant Mechanic and Mechanic Apprentice in all phases of diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain the inventory of equipment parts, fuel, and any other purchases of the maintenance facility
• Assist management in recommending the purchase of all equipment insuring in line with the budget.
• Aid management in the formulation and implementation of the repair and maintenance budget for all equipment
• Drive, repair and operate large and small equipment and maintenance vehicles following department policies and procedures.
• Perform manual labor installing and maintaining drainage systems, irrigation systems, hardscapes, and turf and ornamental landscaping.
• Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
• Leads by setting a positive example to all Associates.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED is required.  Associate’s Degree or more is preferred. Certification in both hydraulics and electronics is preferred

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.  Extensive working knowledge of the tools and methods used on a Golf Course to repair and maintain gas and diesel engines, hydraulic operated systems, and electrical systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
