Senior Business Analyst - Card External Planning & Analysis
Capital OneAbout the role
We’re seeking a Senior Business Analyst to act as a thought-leader, analytical partner, and insight creator within our Card External Planning & Analysis team. Through innovation and analytical rigor, our team tackles high-leverage problems facing Card’s leaders and drives insights that propel Capital One’s Card business forward.
Within this team, our analytical efforts are centralized around three primary pillars:
Analysis and benchmarking of the Credit Card industry against our own Card business through various growth metrics, customer segmentations, and access to public/private data
Exploring and translating the various macroeconomic / industry trends driving consumer preferences into tangible and measurable headwinds and tailwinds on our Card business
Driving innovation and insights through centralized portfolio analytics, which include ongoing investments in our Card CLT monitoring dashboard, deep-dives into Consumer Portfolio health, and strategic requests supporting high-impact presentations to Card leaders, the President of Card, and our Board of directors.
You will partner heavily with various teams across Card (i.e. Business Lines, Corporate Strategy, Card Finance, CRM, etc.) to solve important business problems that will ultimately drive value to the company. You will be encouraged to drive insights, take risks, and seek out new responsibilities to create leverage for the team. We work to drive efficiencies, collaboration, innovation and outsized value across the Card organization through the various lenses we maintain as hybrid analysts (BA, DA, FA, Strategy, etc.) in our analysis and storytelling.
We hire creative, authentic team players that are humble and naturally curious, who know how to move quickly, but also maintain an incredibly high bar for excellence. On this team you’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop your understanding of our Card business through visibility to numerous datasets that you likely won’t see or have access to in future BA roles. Because we partner heavily with senior Card leaders to solve complex problems, strong influence, strategic analytical thinking and storytelling skills are a must. For candidates that seek to be “strong generalists” and build a career in Capital One’s Card business, our team can be a powerful launch pad, providing a wide lens of visibility and opportunities to tackle different challenges facing Card. We aim to provide a pathway for top talent to pivot into rewarding careers within Capital One.
