Assistant Manager, Radiation Oncology-Atlantic Health Hackettstown Medical Center-Full Time

Responsible for providing leadership, training and guidance to staff Radiation Therapists, supporting the manager, and support staff and performing complex and specialized radiation oncology work. Assists the manager in identifying problems, recommending solutions and assisting in the improvement of technical and patient service programs. 


Principal Accountabilities:


1. Responsibilities include oversight and delegated management duties related to daily operational, department productivity, patient safety, clinical effectiveness and regulatory compliance. 
2. This position is also responsible for working in the clinic performing radiation treatment and patient simulation as necessary.
3. Assists in the supervision of patient care under the direction of the department manager through competent technical activities of self and staff. Demonstrates knowledge of treatment processes and all equipment.
4. Observes radiation safety measures for patient and staff.
5. Assists in the development of the department budget and monthly variance review.
6. Supports an HRO culture and assists in establishing and updating department policies.
7. Participates with manager in staff performance improvement and compliance

8. Models and fosters an environment of professionalism and employee engagement.
9. Assists with new skill training and ongoing competency. Promotes shared decision making and works to encourage staff participation in activities such as outreach and AH wellness.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:
1. 3-5 years' experience as a registered radiation therapist 
2. Certified as a Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
3. Prior supervisor experience preferred.
