Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports DASCO’s mission by providing specialized expertise in leaves of absence administration, benefits coordination, unemployment claims management, and workers’ compensation. This role ensures compliance, timely processing, strong associate communication, and exceptional service to leaders and team members. The HR Generalist will also support broader HR initiatives, contributing to a culture aligned with DASCO’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Leaves of Absence Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for FMLA, ADA, personal leaves, military leaves, and other company-sponsored leave programs.
- Manage end-to-end leave workflow, including eligibility determination, documentation, communication, tracking, and return-to-work coordination.
- Maintain accurate leave records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
- Partner with leaders to communicate leave timelines, work restrictions, and modifications.
Benefits Administration
- Assist associates with enrollment, qualifying life events, plan questions, and issue resolution across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and voluntary benefits.
- Support annual open enrollment, including system audits, communication, and follow-up with associates.
- Liaise with DASCO’s benefits brokers and carriers to resolve escalated concerns.
- Maintain accurate benefit data in Paylocity; conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Unemployment Claims Management
- Review, respond to, and track all unemployment claims and hearings.
- Partner with leaders to gather documentation related to separations and performance.
- Represent DASCO in unemployment hearings when needed.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations to reduce preventable unemployment exposure.
Workers’ Compensation Administration
- Serve as the primary contact for Ohio BWC and partner states.
- Process and track workers’ compensation claims from initial report through closure.
- Coordinate light-duty and return-to-work programs with leaders.
- Support OSHA reporting, audits, and safety compliance initiatives.
Additional HR Support
- Provide general HR support in policy interpretation, HRIS workflows, and associate relations matters.
- Assist with internal communication efforts and HR initiatives that enhance associate experience and culture.
- Participate in ongoing process improvements to drive efficiency and service excellence.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all actions align with DASCO values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably with focus in leaves, benefits, workers’ comp, or compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, OSHA, and state leave laws.
- Experience with HRIS systems; Paylocity experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes with clarity and empathy.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Requirements
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. May include both in-office and at home flexibility.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
