Finance Intern - Business Controlling

Mission for the internship:

• Support the finance team in month-end closing.
• Support the finance team in the preparation of monthly management reporting pack.
• Support the finance team in creating financial forecasts and conducting detailed analyses to provide insights for strategic decision-making and develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making processes.
• Support accounting functions: bookkeeping, reviewing of financial information, preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing of invoices.
• Participate in projects to set up business cases or business processes (e.g. Finance system/SAP implementations, Daily finance process improvements etc.).
• Preparation of weekly budget requests and proper follow up on indirect purchases.
• Monitor the overall spending, perform variance analyses (actual vs. budget).

What you will learn:

• Enhance advance excel (modelling) skills.
• Gain practical experience in preparing the management report.
• Learn the basics of financial forecasting, analysis, and financial modeling.
• Acquire essential accounting skills, including bookkeeping, journal entry preparation, and invoice review.
• Participate in real-world finance projects, gaining insights into finance system implementations and process improvements.
• Gain budgeting and financial planning skills through hands-on experience with budget management and indirect purchase follow-up.

Key educational requirement:

• Highly numerate with advanced Excel skills, and comfortable working with big data and various financial and reporting systems (Power BI, SAP, etc.)
• Currently enrolled in a bachelors or masters degree in the Netherlands.
• Fluent in English.
