These positions will receive on-the-job training on how to complete audit assignments in an in-house setting, as well as learn to prepare comprehensive reports, and gather supportive documentation and evidence related to revenue tax auditing. Essential Functions

• Under immediate supervision, for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months, receives intensive scheduled classroom instruction and on-the-job training involving the various facets of the Illinois Department of Revenue’s (IDOR) Audit program and operations.
• Participates as part of a team in audit assignments, or assists supervisor, in more difficult or complex audits.
• Receives on-the-job training in performing auditing assignments of increasing difficulty, in either an in-house setting or in a field office.
• Attends and participates in a formalized classroom training program on regularly scheduled basis to receive highly specialized and technical orientation, indoctrination and instruction in the knowledge and skill required in both manual and computerized revenue tax auditing.
• Receives classroom and on-the-job training in utilization of a Personal Computer and related software, e.g., Access, Excel, Word, GenTax, etc.
• Provides routine tax information and guidance to taxpayers concerning the proper method of completing tax returns and application forms.
