Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler is tasked with scheduling extrusion, secondary, and recoil operations in all manufacturing locations. This position requires a good working knowledge of overall pipe flow through manufacturing and an understanding of current trends in customer demand. This position requires strong leadership and decision-making skills, and the ability to communicate effectively to peers and management.
This position is a full-time position on site in Apple Valley, MN.
Hours are 5am-5pm, 4days on and 4days off.
What will you do?
-Plans and schedules manufacturing production in accordance with customer demand.
-Works with the Master Production Scheduler (MPS) to establish improved planning methods and processes; performs ad-hoc projects as assigned.
-Maintains communications with Operations management about daily priorities; participates in daily Tier meetings.
-Schedules and manages movement of materials required for manufacturing production.
-Maintains an up-to-date schedule of current production equipment, including special testing and limitations of any of the lines. Audits schedules for adherence and accuracy.
-Coordinates and executes special orders as directed.
-Updates scheduling tools and reports.
-Seeks out opportunities to contribute to the business success through proactive involvement in team initiatives.
What will you need?
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Above average working knowledge of MS Office Suite and above average math skills
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Effective and approachable communication style
• Ability to work with and build rapport with a variety of people and teams throughout the organization
Preferred:
• Previous Production Scheduling experience
• Oracle experience
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Access, and other computer applications
