Location: Hybrid, (2-3 days a week in office) in Glendale, WI

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Global Payroll Manager to spearhead the creation and management of our global payroll function. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing payroll processes and systems across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, while also maintaining a consistent and efficient global payroll operation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develops a comprehensive global payroll strategy aligned with the company's objectives and growth plans. Leads the design, setup, and implementation of payroll processes and systems in all target countries. Ensures payroll processes are streamlined, efficient, and compliant with local tax and labor laws.
  • Recruits, trains, and manages a team of payroll professionals to support global payroll operations. Provides guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure a high performing payroll team.
  • Stays current with international payroll laws and regulations to ensure company-wide compliance. Mitigates payroll-related risks and addresses compliance issues promptly.
  • Evaluates and selects external payroll service providers where necessary and manages those relationships effectively. Negotiates contracts and service-level agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of service.
  • Oversees accurate and timely processing of payroll data, including employee compensation, benefits, and tax withholdings. Generates payroll reports and analyzes data for accuracy and discrepancies.
  • Continuously identifies opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Leads payroll system enhancements and upgrades as needed.
  • Collaborates with internal and external auditors to ensure payroll data integrity and compliance. Develops and maintains payroll audit procedures and documentation.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field required with a preference towards a master’s degree and/or payroll certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in global payroll management, with a track record of setting up payroll operations in multiple countries. In-depth knowledge of international payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements. High level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience in managing payroll in a manufacturing union set up is preferred
  • Strong experience in time & attendance process, hourly payroll processing in a manufacturing set up leveraging tools like Workbrain (Infor), ADP eTime or Workforce Manager Time & Attendance 
  • Strong experience in defining payroll business requirements, functional designing, process & data flow across systems and ability to lead and drive global systems & process implementation working collaboratively with IT, HR and business stakeholders 
  • Strong experience working in a matrixed environment and ability to steer cross functional collaboration, drive projects and be a go to expert for payroll
