About the role

The Opportunity

The Engineering and Integrity Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of pipeline systems within our mainland logistics organization. This role involves managing the logistics engineering team as well major maintenance and capital projects at our pipeline facilities, collaborating with senior leadership to advance critical projects, and identifying opportunities for profit improvement and operational optimization across our distribution system.

 

Key activities include: 

  • Review and analyze risks to pipeline facilities and determine appropriate integrity management strategies.
  • Plan and execute inline inspections and maintenance of pipeline systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for pipeline integrity, including analyzing acquisition candidates.
  • Develop project ideas to improve profitability, competitive position, or asset integrity of pipeline and terminal assets.
  • Coordinate a portfolio of major maintenance and capital projects with budgets ranging from $1-10 million annually.
  • Develop project scope of work, cost estimates, economic feasibility, and decision support packages for leadership.
  • Manage engineering team and serve as the Project Manager for logistics projects, overseeing project design, permitting, bidding, and execution.
  • Lead monthly project reviews for the logistics leadership team and work closely with procurement and accounting for financial management during project execution.
  • Proactively search for optimization opportunities and implement best practices across the logistics system.
  • Provide support and relief for key roles within the logistics organization and assist with training as needed.

 

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for employment, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. 

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
  • Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering degree preferred

 

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the pipeline or petroleum industry, with a focus on project management, engineering, and pipeline integrity programs
  • In-depth knowledge of PHMSA regulations (49 CFR 195) and at least 5 years of direct experience with pipeline integrity programs
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Project, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Experience in the safe handling of flammable liquids
  • Familiarity with pipeline ASME B31.4 and B31.3 standards
  • Knowledge of API 1104, API 650, and API 653 standards
  • Understanding of equipment used in liquid product measurement and control, and API measurement standards
  • General knowledge of federal and state safety and compliance regulations regarding pipeline operations
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability requirements
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening prior to hiring
  • Strong mechanical and analytical skills are essential for success in this position

 

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position
  • Use of safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hard hats, Nomex, and respirator when necessary
  • Availability for callouts and overtime as needed, including after-hours work

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking, standing, crouching, and climbing required
  • Ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, climb, and grasp
  • Ability to lift light, medium, and heavy objects
  • Vision correctable to 20/40 or better, with depth perception and full field
  • Must be willing to work at heights and within confined spaces
  • Ability to travel to operations facilities and offices throughout Washington, Montana, and Wyoming by car or via direct flights
