About The Team
The Metadata and Video Infrastructure team is the heart of Crunchyroll services and is responsible for maintaining critical, internal customer services to deliver our content to Crunchyroll subscribers. Our goal is to deliver value by addressing the needs and solving the problems of our business and related teams to help them deliver an extraordinary experience for anime fans. About You:
- Demonstrated ability leading and building products and features, from inception to delivery
- Proven experience collaborating with product designers to create well-crafted and functional experiences
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to provide clear and concise requirements to Engineering and QA/QE teams, while gathering those requirements compassionately on behalf of multiple colleagues on teams.
- Creating PRDs grounded in a strong hypothesis and concrete data
- Skills in developing a validated, testable hypothesis for every feature and product built on a foundation of data. You know what's important to measure, how to measure it, and how to interpret the data to influence decisions and directions
- Demonstrate strong customer emotional intelligence to understand both our internal customer needs and how those needs translate to our audiences. A strong person in this role should be able to bring their understanding of an audience to various business customers and work collaboratively to translate those hypotheses into testable product concepts
- Experience working with a globally distributed team
- Experience with developing a strong product vision and using that to set a multi-quarter roadmap
- Build connections and collaborate across the organization to address customer needs
- Proven track record of working cross-functionally and independently to get results
- Experience with APIs, data structures, and data analysis is appealing
- Previous experience with building features or products for video-on-demand offerings is desirable.
- A passion for anime, animation, Sci-Fi, comedy, horror, or cult cinema content, the fandom surrounding it, is always fun!
- A motivated people-person who can balance being a self-starter with the needs of the business
A day in the life of our Principal Product Manager:
- Leading impactful, company-wide initiatives that drive value
- Checking your dashboards to gauge the health of your systems, keeping an eye out for anomalies, measure improvements
- Partnering with your engineering colleagues and business customers to troubleshoot issues, translate those into solutions, and deliver improvements daily
- Define, prioritize, evaluate, and deliver features through various engineering and business teams across the company
- Measuring the effectiveness of features and synthesizing the results to share insights with the wider organization
- Looking for opportunities to help drive impactful, company wide initiatives
- Collaborate across teams to share visions, roadmap, progress, and results while soliciting feedback and insights from colleagues to improve our offerings
- Using the best methods to evaluate and prioritize efforts, using concepts like stack rank
- Collaborating with your teammates on Personas to evangelize a deeper understanding of all of our customers
- Coordinating with product design and research to understand internal and external user needs and translate those insights into PRD
- Drive your product roadmap to help your colleagues be successful
