As a Buyer with Purchasing and Operations Specialist responsibilities, you will assist the commodity team in the purchasing process. This includes managing requisition placement, assisting in Long Term Agreements, managing raw materials updates, placing purchase orders, and assisting suppliers by providing technical data requests.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
• Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
• Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults People Leader or more senior team members for issues outside of defined parameters.
• Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
• Handles simple data entry work requiring face value check and correction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years (buying/procurement) experience + minimum of 3 years (buying/procurement) experience
