About the role

The Defense Systems Sector within Leidos has an executive opening for a Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Aerospace Business Area.
This role is responsible for leading a domestic team of over 1000 employees with $600 million in revenue delivering solutions in support of national security and civil missions in space, threat and cyber systems, hypersonics, and cutting-edge materials technology. The SVP will be responsible for developing business strategies that provide opportunity for growth in revenue, coordinating and leading the activities of multiple divisions and program areas, and ensuring that financial goals are achieved.  
The SVP will report directly to the Defense Systems Sector President.  

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate thought leadership; focus on delivering results; and work with teams across the sector, divisions, and corporate levels to ensure all policies and procedures for financial management, program and IRAD reporting, people management, and new business captures are accomplished successfully.  As a leader of leaders, the position will provide guidance to division managers and program/project managers to ensure organizational, technical, managerial and business development goals and values are met. The SVP will be responsible for hiring, developing and retaining diverse and highly skilled technical staff to accomplish organizational goals.

Scope of responsibility includes:
Program Execution – Program and project oversight and implementation of processes and Quality Management Systems to achieve flawless execution and customer satisfaction
Business Development – Business Strategy and pipeline development, customer relationship management, capture and proposal leadership, intra and inter-group collaboration, IR&D development and execution and B&P investments consistent with the operation’s overall business strategy to achieve top and bottom-line growth objectives
People Management – Sound, ethical, and inclusive leadership with a commitment to developing, engaging, recruiting and retaining a diverse and high-performing team
Financial Management- Forecast and meet annual operating plan financial targets

Required Qualifications:
Candidate must have broad and diverse leadership experience in large organizations focused on strategic planning, development, operations and sustainment of aeronautics and space systems including supporting infrastructure.  Candidate must possess a broad understanding of current DOD space programs.
Candidate must possess leadership experience and strong technical understanding in the application of technologies to support aerospace development and operations including modeling and simulation, artificial intelligence, software development, and information analytics.
Candidate must have experience in working with senior government customers across defense, intelligence and civilian agencies.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s in Engineering or other technical degree and a minimum of 15 years of relevant and successful experience in business and financial management, program management, engineering and business development with increasingly complex assignments in a variety of environments.
Candidate must have leadership experience and strong working knowledge in the application of cybersecurity technology, tools, and methods in the protection of mission critical systems across the aerospace and defense domains. In addition, candidate should have experience and knowledge of providing technology-oriented products and services to the commercial marketplace.
Candidate must have demonstrated ability to lead change at scale, specifically in applying emerging methods and technologies to increase speed, agility, and efficiency within an organization and for its customers.
Candidate must have prior experience identifying potential partners, developing teaming agreements and working with other operation/group/corporate team members to develop a total integrated and differentiated business solution.
Experience leveraging IRAD to develop technology discriminators and strategy for business growth.
Ability to travel, as required, approximately 25 – 50%.
Must have Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a technical field
Possess a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Familiarity with financial, program, and contract management approaches, processes and tools (CostPoint, SharePoint etc.)
Direct financial management responsibility >$250M/Annually
