Business Group Lead, Architectural

The Business Group (BG) Lead is responsible for acting as a business partner of the ED&I organization for Architectural (Paint Stores Group and Consumer Brands Group), with a focus on driving data innovation. The role requires a strong understanding of Architectural’s goals and objectives, as well as an ability to analyze data and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for Architectural’s product offerings and future road mapping. The BG Lead provides guidance and leadership to BG Enablement Managers by setting the strategic data priorities of Architectural and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Ultimately, the main goal of the BG Lead is to ensure that the Architectural's data needs are fulfilled by data product offerings, deliver value to Architectural through data and insights while contributing to the success of the enterprise through data-driven decision-making.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Develop and implement data-driven business plans, objectives, and strategies for the assigned business group
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives
- Analyze data and market trends to provide insights and recommendations for product and service improvements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and partners
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the business group using data and analytics insights
- Oversee the development and maintenance of robust data and analytics reporting, analyzing performance data and making recommendations to improve results
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate operational and financial risks related to data
- Drive data learning and development as well as enablement within Architectural
- Serve as the liaison representing Architectural’s specific data needs
- Recommend strategic data solutions through an enterprise-first lens, supporting our ultimate ONE SHW vision
- Collaborate with Business Enablement Director, other BG Leads, and BG Enablement Managers to identify cross-group data synergies and efficiencies, and help drive stakeholders to better leverage enterprise data
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field, or in lieu of a related degree, at least 9 years of experience in business management, analytics or data-related roles preferably within a related industry or function.
Preferred:
- Related certifications (e.g., CBM, PMP, CBMP) preferred
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 12+ years of experience in data science, analytics or data-related roles, preferably within a related industry
- 6+ years of experience managing and leading a team of direct reports
- Experience in leading teams and managing complex data-driven business operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans using data insights, and driving business growth and profitability through data-driven decision making
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Possess a high degree of relevant functional or business specific knowledge around goals, metrics, processes and operations
Preferred:
- Experience in, or deep understanding of Architectural Groups (PSG and CBG)
