We currently have an opportunity for a Director, Commercial LinesΒ to join our Healthcare Commercial Lines team in our Milford, MA office on a Hybrid work schedule
Overview:
Responsible for the administration, operation, and retention goals of the Commercial Accounts Department in assigned location(s) and/or industry vertical; supervising and managing assigned personnel and the servicing of commercial accounts in accordance with the practices, policies, and procedures of the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation of department, by setting and communicating direction, objectives, planning, organizing, and effectively coordinating with other departments (claims, finance, etc.).
- Direct the services of the department within the accepted principles and practices of the insurance community and in accordance with HUB Broker Standards while also continually seeking process improvements with input from direct reports.
- Supervise and direct department personnel including training, motivation, performance appraisal, including career path mentorship and salary recommendation.
- Responsible for employment practices of recommending the hiring or dismissal of personnel within the department new employee onboarding of direct reports, and identify, recruit and coach top talent to create a talent pipeline for key roles.
- Strategic oversight and connection to NEE overall goals and initiatives; communicates this strategy clearly to the department personnel and measures success.
- Review and analyze renewal and retention trends and the financial impact to NEE goals and objectives. Foster a collaborative team culture with continuous feedback and growth mindset.
- Assign accounts and work assignments to department personnel including the handling and servicing of new accounts with Producers.
- Provide technical knowledge and expertise to department personnel regarding risk identification and appropriate coverage.
- Handle and service assigned commercial accounts of high complexity, when needed.
- Assist customers and make suggestions for appropriate coverage and deal with customer complaints for solutions and client retention.
- Identify opportunities and support the development of new business from existing accounts. Oversee the collection of premiums due for accounts assigned to the department.
- Oversee and implement a quality control review process to assure the production of quality work and the provision of excellent customer service.
- Keep informed of changes and trends within the industry for the purpose of anticipating and responding to growth opportunities and objectives.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by President, Commercial Lines and with support of industry vertical practice leader, if applicable.
Qualifications:
- Seven to ten years commercial lines insurance experience.
- Three to five years department leadership and supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets.
- Producer's license.
- Experience with agency management systems.
- Proficient with Micros
