Families in Transition is currently looking for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team!


The Payroll & Benefits Administrator is responsible for a wide range of activities in the Human Resource function with a primary focus in Payroll and Benefits. 


  Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepares payroll entries on a bi-weekly basis
  • Process payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes into the HR System.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social      security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and  analyzing information.
  • Provides payroll information by answering staff questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
  • Process employment/unemployment verifications.
  • Process and issue annual W-2 forms to employees.
  • Process benefit enrollments and qualifying events. Educate employees on the benefits available to them and any deadlines for changes. Answer any employee questions regarding their benefits.
  • Work with vendors to ensure enrollments, terminations, and resolve any benefit errors or issues.
  • Process monthly benefit invoices. Periodically audit invoices for accuracy.

  

Pay range: $19 - $24 per hour

Requirements

  •  Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, Accounting or related field.
  •  1+ years experience, preferably with payroll processes.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and possess high accuracy.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and time management skills. 
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to cultivate partnerships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
