Principal Java (Full Stack) Software Engineer

Fidelity Personal Investing – Core Wealth Platforms area is looking for a passionate Full Stack Principal Software Engineer to build and support world-class products for its business-critical Wealth Management Team. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, passionate and self-driven. We work in a very dynamic agile environment.

A successful Principal Full Stack Engineer on the team participates in all phases of a project lifecycle, including solutioning with our Delivery Lead / Product Owners to gather & document business and systems requirements, helping with current state analysis of our systems, helping define our technology solution, and partnering with QA in test case preparation. The role requires great collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the life cycle of the project.

As a principal engineer on the team, your primary role will be building engineering applications using modern technologies like Angular, Nodejs, APIs, AWS, javascript, and DevOps practices. You will be expected to have a full understanding of all the components of our web applications and lead the team of developers to deliver best in class solutions.

 The Expertise You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 7+ years of development experience (currently hands on) including TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, Java.
  • 5+ years of development experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, Node, Jenkins.
  • Test Driven Development, Cypress
  • Visual Studio Code within a UNIX, Windows or Mac environment.
  • Application build, deploy using Continuous Integration/ Deployment (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy docker or similar DevOps tools.
  • Leadership: Team leader, self-starter, collaborative, innovative, eager to learn and teach others every day.
  • AWS and Scrum Developer certification are a plus

The Skills You Bring:

  • Drive the coordination of multiple development work streams through integration and ensure architecture is scalable and extensible. 
  • Define, maintain, and support Java development environment and best practices, such as Maven, Sonar, and other Open Source tools.
  • Assist in identification, isolation, resolution, and communication of problems within the production and nonproduction environment and perform troubleshooting.
  • Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing using Open Source frameworks.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Drive and guide the continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Make significant contributions to our technology platform
