Summer 2024 - Applied Behavior Analysis Internship - The Canopy School

Position Overview:

The internship in Applied Behavior Analysis is a field training experience that puts you in the role of a working Behavior Analyst in a real-world environment, providing treatment to clients, and dealing with all the challenges of a practical work setting. To meet Behavior Analyst Certification Board and state licensing board requirements, you must be supervised by a qualified supervisor (i.e., BCBA) during your internship hours. You will also need to qualify to be able to participate in treatment, even though you will be supervised every step of the way. That includes becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), signing a formal supervision contract, documenting your experience, undergoing a set number of hours of meetings and supervised practice, and committing to the Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts. Your activities and duties during this internship are broad. You may:

• Conduct assessments for clients who are candidates for behavioral intervention
• Design, implement, and monitor behavior-reduction and skill-training programs
• Write assessment reports and treatment plans
• Communicate and collaborate with caregivers and other stakeholders
• Oversee behavioral systems and performance management

Internship Program Requirements:

• All interns are required to attend a mandatory orientation and training session at the beginning of their internship.
• Business Casual or Clinical Attire
• Established contract with academic institution.
• Students must satisfactorily complete goals as outlined by university affiliates and their assigned site supervisor. 

Required Qualifications:

• Current student enrolled in a graduate program in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.
• Must be enrolled, and in good academic standing, with an accredited academic institution at time of internship.
