Senior Data Analyst

About the Role:
The Sr. Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the accounting department by developing and delivering critical information necessary for informed accounting decisions. This position focuses on providing actionable insights that empower senior management to enhance the accounting process. Key responsibilities include extracting and transforming data, merging data sets, interpreting and analyzing results, and generating reports to help improve processes and increase efficiencies within the accounting team. The Sr. Data Analyst will also review current processes and collaborate across departments and technology functions to ensure comprehensive solutions are implemented. This role will act as a project lead, facilitating communication with IT and key business stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

• Develop and Lead Presentations: Create and deliver training sessions for Accounting and FP&A colleagues.

• Reporting and Analytics Framework: Collaborate with Accounting and FP&A teams to establish a meaningful reporting and analytics framework that identifies business insights, risks, and opportunities.

• Project Leadership: Serve as the project lead for data and analytics initiatives.

• Business Intelligence Collaboration: Partner with the Business Intelligence and Analytics team within IT to deliver solutions that meet accounting needs.

• Data and Report Development: Work with report users to create queries, complex analytical models, and reporting visualizations that provide senior leaders with the necessary information and proactive analysis for informed business decisions.

• Data Merging: Combine data sets from various ERP systems, to provide comprehensive insights.

• Cross-Functional Communication: Facilitate effective communication across departments to ensure alignment and collaboration on data initiatives.

• Data Engineering: Utilize strong data engineering and data architecture skills to implement solutions, including the use of Power BI, DAX formulas for visualization, and M code for data transformation.

• Innovative Solutions: Develop enhanced solutions through innovation and creativity, providing actionable insights to improve accounting processes.

• Data Evangelism: Promote data knowledge and insights by managing communications with stakeholders and collaborating with both technical and non-technical colleagues to complete data and analytics projects.

What We're Looking For:

• 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience.

• Preferred: Master's/Postgraduate Degree in Finance, Economics, MIS, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, MIS, Information Systems, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

• Other Certifications: Advanced knowledge/experience with SQL and Power BI including Power Query. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python.

• Ability to execute instructions and seek clarification when needed.

• Attention to detail with accuracy and efficiency.

• Clear communication skills to convey necessary information.

• Proficient in creating and conducting formal presentations.

• Effective interaction with all levels of management.
