Job Title: Student Assistant – Figure Drawing Monitor, F26
Reports to: Michael Lorefice
Essential Functions
A Figure Drawing Monitor is expected to independently administer open figure drawing sessions for students to complete their homework in the figure drawing classes. Responsibilities include setting up the room for the session and putting equipment away afterwards. The monitor will also time the art model, collect their invoice, and maintain decorum during the session. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Classroom set up and tear-down tables and/or easels during class
- Timing art model
- Maintaining decorum
- Helping the model submit invoice
- Coordinating with faculty regarding homework needs
- Assisting students with feedback and tutoring at the session
- Submitting Sign-In Sheets to instructors and monitor coordinator
- Accountable for tracking and reporting the amount of time worked in UKG
Qualifications/Competencies
- Have proven proficiency with figure drawing
- Possess a positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others excel
- Be comfortable interacting with other students on an instructional level as a mentor
- Arrive on time and be prepared to attend with complete focus during work hours
- Successfully completed ART-201 or ART-501 (or equivalent) with a B or higher
- Comfortable with multiple aspects of figure drawing and anatomy
- Able to give critique in a professional manner
- Strong communicator
- Reliable, punctual, and invested in the success of their fellow students
- Able to work independently
Expected dates of employment: August 24 – December 18, 2026
Expected number of hours per week: 4 – 6

Wage Range:
$17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on number of terms worked at DigiPen

Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
DigiPen Student Employee Academic Requirements:
- Are currently a Matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology
- Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in DigiPen Course Catalog
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Have taken and passed ART-201 or ART-501 (or equivalent) with a B or better
