About the role

Job Summary

The Director, Facilities & Administrative Services owns the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and upgrade of Butcher Power Products' physical facilities, including the Trade Center fabrication shop (50,000 sq. ft.), the Oates assembly and test facility (30,000 sq. ft.), BPP headquarters, and a new 82,500 sq. ft. assembly and test facility as it comes online.
This role keeps buildings, building systems, and site infrastructure safe, code-compliant, and reliable so that manufacturing, engineering, and office operations are never interrupted by a facilities issue.

As BPP builds out its new facility, the Director represents facilities and operational needs on the project team, working alongside the general contractor, architect, and project manager who lead design and construction. This role owns the move-in and transition plan that relocates people, equipment, and operations with minimal disruption to production.
The Director also leads the facilities and administrative services team, including the Office Manager, Receptionist, Facilities Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, and related support staff, ensuring consistent service levels and operational excellence across all BPP locations.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance: Own the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all BPP facilities, including building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, fire/life safety), structural elements, grounds, and general upkeep.
Preventive Maintenance Program: Establish and run a preventive maintenance program across all facilities, including equipment and systems inventories, PM schedules, and work order tracking to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
Capital Improvements & Upgrades: Identify, scope, and manage facility upgrade projects, including roofing, electrical capacity, HVAC, dock and crane infrastructure, flooring, and similar improvements, including contractor selection, budgeting, scheduling, and quality oversight.
Facilities Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and manage facilities and administrative services personnel, including the Office Manager, Receptionist, Facilities Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, and related support staff. Establish performance expectations, provide coaching and development, and ensure appropriate staffing levels to support business operations.
Technical Maintenance Oversight: Direct and support HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and general facilities repair activities performed by internal staff and external contractors. Determine what work should be performed internally versus specialized vendors.
Administrative Services Leadership: Oversee reception, mail, supplies, shipping, badging, office support functions, and site services while ensuring consistent service standards across all BPP locations.
New Facility Build-Out Support: Serve as BPP's facilities point of contact during the build-out of the new 82,500 sq. ft. assembly and test facility, representing operational, utility, layout, and equipment requirements while reviewing plans and identifying facility impacts.
Move-In & Transition Planning: Own and execute the move-in and transition plan for new facilities, coordinating equipment relocation and reinstallation, minimizing operational disruption, and aligning activities with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations leadership.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all facilities meet OSHA, fire/life safety, environmental, and applicable local building code requirements. Maintain permits, inspection schedules, compliance records, and act as the facilities point of contact during inspections and audits.
Space Planning & Utilization: Plan and manage space allocation and facility layouts across all sites as headcount, equipment, and production needs evolve. Coordinate future space requirements with department leaders.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Source, qualify, negotiate, and manage facilities vendors and contractors, including HVAC, electrical, janitorial, landscaping, waste, and similar service providers. Hold vendors accountable to agreed service levels.
Budget Management: Develop and manage facilities operating and capital budgets, monitor spending against plan, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining facility reliability.
Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and support business continuity p
