The Job:
As a Director, Operational Excellence, you’ll be part of our Operational Excellence team working as a virtual employee. You’ll get to:
• Lead OpX/manufacturing site maturity model creation and associated assessments- piloting off the shelf option(s) and reviewing or building our own custom option.
• Drive implementation of an operational excellence maturity model to drive to world class manufacturing.
• Support sites to develop individual action plans to help sites reach the next level of maturity.
• Connect manufacturing maturity to the championship program when and where it is applicable.
• Support plant performance governance and strategy for reviewing plant performance.
• Provide targeted support and interventions to various manufacturing sites.
• Lead a team of Operational Excellence Engineers.
• Partner with Manufacturing Excellence team (within the Operational Excellence team) to identify opportunities.
• Partner with cross-functional Manufacturing Leadership on prioritization of initiatives within sites related to the maturity model.
• Support the deployment of elements of the our production management system across manufacturing sites including other components to governance, launch of the system, CI, closed loop processes.
• Help shape the agenda for Operational Excellence/Maturity, CI and support implementation across the global manufacturing network and supply chain.
• Develop relationships with key leaders in Power Tools, Outdoor, and Hand Tools & Storage business units.
• Lead codification of any newly developed approaches, methodologies, and results.
The Person:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 10+ years of manufacturing experience
• Masters or MBA preferred
• Experience leading Continuous Improvement team (virtual or direct reporting lines)
• Experience leading projects at scale
• Deep experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
• Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel up to 40-50% of the time, global and domestic, travel % may vary based on business needs
