Responsible for leading the analysis and measuring the effectiveness of existing business processes and developing sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements.Essential Job Duties
- Oversee the collection and analysis of process data and apply process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to identify, analyze and improve business processes to improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity, enhance safety, and increase customer satisfaction.
- Research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and identify and transfer best practices across locations.
- Determine how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.
- Lead and oversee continuous assessments of business processes, change recommendations, peer collaborations, and implementation plans and compliance processes.
- Oversee the development of documentation and metrics to support analysis and improvement including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap/problem analysis.
- Identify, document, communicate, and report project status and significant deviations in project quality, cost, schedule, and savings.
- May oversee and conduct effective proposal presentations for projects.
- May assess training needs and oversee training on system technologies.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge expert; typically 7 years+ in specialized profession or equivalent including 4 years+ management experience; degree required; advanced degree and professional certification preferred
- Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures, profitability and return on investment modeling.
- Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience or continuous improvement training/experience.
- Experience with business process reengineering.
Preferred Requirements
- MBA
- Six Sigma black belt.
- Masters Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Operations, Logistics, or related field.
- Certification in Auditing Standards (ACCA).
- Experience performing modeling and analysis.
- Understanding of internal controls.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole statistical inference, and forecasting. Ability to apply and analyze concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
- Frequently communicates complex information across departments and interacts with management. Can present, resolve and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.
- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents and practices.
- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
- Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional areas. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.
- Prioritize, organize, and oversee tasks and projects: responsible for outcomes.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
