About the role

Job Overview

Our Systems Control operation in Iron Mountain, MI is looking for a Production Manager who wants to grow with us as we grow! As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the production team through the designated areas within the facility. The direct reports for this position are production supervisors who manage production employees on the manufacturing floor. The teams are responsible for the execution of projects on the manufacturing floor including the safety, quality, delivery and cost reduction initiatives through the manufacturing processes. 

A Day In The Life

  • Ensure production capacities and resource planning are in line with sales and projections for production.  
  • Recommend hiring needs as necessary.
  • Maintain a productive and harmonious relationship with Union.  Manage labor concerns as they surface. 
  • Provide daily leadership to team members to ensure all safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction initiatives are being executed. 
  • Keen focus on people development, improvement on training and onboarding processes. 
  • Drive quality improvements through formal problem solving techniques. 
  • Foster a strong working relationship throughout the value stream. 
  • Review and approve performance appraisals and discipline records. 
  • Communicate critical decision-making processes regarding incoming and outgoing area expectations, project delays, and product design changes. 
  • Create, review and recommend capital equipment purchases. 
  • Lead and participate in cost reduction efforts using Lean techniques. 
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic planning and business objectives. 
  • Exemplifies Systems core values and drives intentional culture between Union and Office team members. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Over 5 years of experience leading manufacturing/production teams within a Manufacturing environment
