Position Summary

• Responsible for patient care within the hospitals under the supervision of an attending physician.

Principal Accountabilities

Education

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from a CAHEA accredited program

• Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing Studies from a CCNEA accredited program.

Licenses and Certification

• Current Illinois Licensed Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse

• Current NCCPA certificate as a Physician Assistant or AACC certificate as an Advanced Practice Nurse or MEAC certificate as a Certified Professional Midwife

• Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Controlled Substance Licensure

• DEA registration

Experience

• Technical Experience: 1 year

Physical Activities

• Intermittent hand manipulation required

• Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Works in a heated, air-conditioned hospital environment with routine hospital noise. Operates a personal computer and general office equipment. Also works on patient care units. Operates medical equipment.

Occasional exposure to moderate environmental variations and limited exposure to hazardous or potentially injurious elements or conditions.

• Responsible for patient care in an inpatient setting under the supervision of an attending physician.
• Maintains collaborative relationship with supervising physician.
• Completes Gastroenterology consults by obtaining and documenting the patient history information along with the writing the assessment and plan as appropriate. 
• Complete follow up encounters on patients as needed.
• Counsel and instruct patients and significant others as appropriate.
• Communicates with team members by regular participation in staff meetings
• Performs proper and timely billing for services rendered and ensures that billing and clinical documentation adhere to compliance standards.
• Completes education necessary to maintain licensure or certification required for position

Compensation (Commensurate with experience):

$107,120.00 - $184,995.20
