The purpose of the Advanced Specialist, Reliability – MDG & MIQA Support Role is to specifically support our Washington Works (WW) – Plant located in Washington, WV. This role is a vital support role to our WW Mechanical Development Group (MDG) and Mechanical Integrity & Quality Assurance (MIQA) teams. The Advanced Specialist, Reliability will provide daily technical support and guidance for equipment inspections and welding standards by utilizing an extensive knowledge of NDE techniques. The successful candidate will be able to assess equipment condition, perform weld inspections, assist in the design of equipment, and provide field support throughout our WW plant.

Responsibilities

Inspect Equipment to National Standards including:

• Identify damaged equipment, mechanisms and apply appropriate inspection techniques throughout.
• Correctly classify inspection findings as indications or defects in accordance with national standards.
• Make appropriate recommendations from inspection findings.
• Prepare written inspection reports to document clear and accurate findings to thoroughly communicate as found equipment conditions and any corrective actions to repair the asset.
• Provide technical support to the business units and assist in developing procedures and techniques for more efficiency.

Specify Repair Scopes and Techniques including:

• Determine the condition of equipment scheduled for routine inspections throughout.
• Determine the extent of any equipment damage to prescribe required or recommended repairs.
• Provide technical directions for any welding requirements such as: filler metal, process, post- weld heat treatment, etc.
• Review repair documentation such as: material certifications, Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, Welder Performance Qualifications, repair drawings, welding travelers, heat treatment records, nondestructive examination reports, etc.
• Inspect repair corrective actions for compliance to national standards and repair scopes.
• Provide technical support to the area and assist in developing procedures and techniques to improve efficiency of assets throughout.

The successful candidate will be required to pass & maintain nationally recognized certifications as follows:

• American Society for Nondestructive Testing Visual Testing Level II or American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector
• American Society for Nondestructive Testing Liquid Penetrant Testing Level II
• American Society for Nondestructive Testing Ultrasonic Thickness Testing Level II
• American Society for Nondestructive Testing Eddy Current Level II
• EPRI IRIS inspection method
• API 510, API 570, and API 653 certifications

General Planning and Scheduling Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist to plan jobs, repairs, create routine & non-routine job plans, to document and assist with having them added to the maintenance management (CCMS) system.
• Reviews job priorities or completion dates to assure they are realistic. If the priorities seem unrealistic, you will need to negotiate task priority and resources through job completion.
• Ensures proper documentation has been provided and properly planned for DuPont maintenance or contracted vendors to perform work.
• Assists to manage a backlog of work for welders with a minimum of a 4 week look ahead.
• Assists to manage welders and Maintenance Coordinators through an annual shutdown/turnaround.
• Monitors inspection metrics/reports to ensure work advances through the planning and execution stages.
