Senior Data Steward

About the role:

Barry Callebaut Digital is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we are looking for a (Senior) Data Steward to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Data Stewardship, this role will be integral to ensuring that Barry Callebaut's data assets are effectively managed, secure, and compliant with data governance standards.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with global stakeholders, work on high-impact data initiatives, and contribute to building a foundation for actionable insights through well-governed data.
 

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of data management to ensure compliance with Barry Callebaut's data governance standards.

• Develop domain-specific policies and maintain a business glossary and data catalog.

• Implement data domains and models according to a roadmap aligned with business requirements.

• Create processes and procedures to monitor and enforce data governance policies.

• Analyze and support business KPIs and define quality metrics for data domains.

• Ensure proper master data classification and mitigate risks related to data security and compliance.

• Establish guidelines for data handling, governance, quality assessments, privacy, and security.

• Coordinate with users to understand end-to-end data flows and requirements.

• Conduct training sessions and provide support on data management practices and tools.

• Identify opportunities for improving data processes, workflows, and systems.

   

About you:

• Degree in IT, technology, data, business administration, or a comparable field.

• Proficiency in English (written and verbal).

• At least 8 years of experience in data management and governance processes.

• Extensive experience in governing data assets in complex environments.

• Advanced understanding of data governance and management processes.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a structured way of working.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex issues to non-technical audiences.
