PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Conduct research on platelet and megakaryocyte biology and signaling using molecular and genetic tools. Design experimental plans and approaches, analyze and interpret experimental data, write up the results for publication in scientific journals, and submit research grant applications. Experience in design and implementation of protein expression and purification strategies desired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and physiology analysis of platelet and megakaryocyte biology.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Collects and assembles data for any type of oral or written presentation.
  • Independently designs experiments to test hypotheses.
  • Independently carries out or delegates procedures for experiments.
  • Independently analyzes results of experiments. 
  • To plan and carry out the essential experiments
  • To write up the experimental results for scientific publications
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.
