Director, Subscription & Loyalty Product Growth
The Daily BeastAbout the role
Company Description
The Daily Beast delivers award-winning original reporting and sharp opinions from big personalities in the arenas of politics, pop-culture, world news, and more. Fiercely independent and armed with irreverent intelligence, we now reach more than 20 million readers per month. We are based in New York and are an operating business of IAC.
The Opportunity
The Daily Beast is seeking a strategic, analytical, and creative thinker to lead our subscription program – along with growth of our loyalty products that support deepening engagement in the subscription funnel (registration, newsletters, apps). Subscriptions are a crucial part of supporting our newsroom and the 2024 election year is an exciting opportunity to grow the program.
As head of subscriptions, this person should have experience with acquisition and retention marketing for a paid product, from offering strategy and pricing to test design and analysis. A clear understanding of how to effectively move users through a marketing funnel to increase loyalty and drive conversion is a must. The ideal candidate is an agile, big-picture thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and contribute hands-on to achieve our subscription goals.
This person will own a roadmap across testing, tools, and offerings – working cross-functionally with product, engineering, data, editorial, and revenue operations teams to drive growth.
The role will report to the SVP Product and manage the growth team. Their ultimate goal is to be a champion and steward of the subscription program and what it takes to drive its success.

- Report on performance metrics, surfacing clear insights and recommendations for how to optimize
- Collaborate with our product and design team to think through and complete UX flows, wireframes, and design iterations for on-site growth marketing tools
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming culture within the growth team, promoting close collaboration and career development
- Effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths and areas for development
