Job Description Summary
Position Objective:
The Senior Sustainability Reporting Analyst will be based in the Sunbelt Rentals main office in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The role reports to the Sustainability Reporting Manager, based in the Company’s Group finance office in London, U.K., and will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the SVP, Sustainability, based in Fort Mill. The Senior Analyst executes sustainability data collection and analysis to enable a range of sustainability reporting objectives. The role engages with internal and external stakeholders in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and the European Union in support of data collection and analysis and reporting objectives.
Position Responsibilities
- Executes routine internal reporting of key sustainability related performance indicators, working with the businesses to ensure the completeness and accuracy of information.
- Assists with data collection, analysis, and the preparation of metrics for the Company’s corporate sustainability report, engaging with key business stakeholders and external consultants where appropriate.
- Reviews information prepared by businesses in relation to sustainability metrics – for example, undertaking a critical analysis of trends and outliers.
- Collaborates with the sustainability team and businesses to prepare Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon reporting.
- Ensures data prepared fulfils the requirements of relevant reporting frameworks (e.g. GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, etc.).
- In conjunction with the Sustainability Reporting Manager, drafts the Company’s sustainability survey and reporting submissions (e.g. EcoVadis, CDP, S&P, etc.).
- Monitors new and emerging sustainability reporting requirements and trends in the Group’s applicable geographical areas
- In conjunction with the Sustainability Reporting Manager, may engage with industry associations and sustainability practitioners in other companies and industries on best practices in sustainability reporting metrics and measurement.
- Provides support for investor requests and other sustainability projects and objectives as needed.
Requirements: Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, accounting, finance, economics or environmental sciences. Master’s degree a plus.
- Ideal candidate will have experience from a ‘Big Four’ accountancy firm, with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification and 4+ years’ experience.
- At least 4 years of professional experience.
- Highly collaborative with a demonstrable technical and quantitative background.
- Experience working with large global publicly listed companies (either in-house or as a consultant).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with carbon accounting and double materiality sustainability assessment preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
