Job Summary
As a Senior Manager Product Design, you’ll serve as a key leader within the product team, shaping the portfolio roadmap and acting as a customer advocate. You’ll be part of a dynamic Product Development Organization, where you’ll lead in design, working collaboratively with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Support and Customer Success to advance our portfolio of SaaS-based EHR, Practice Management and value-add solutions. You will oversee a team, manage the design system, sponsor strategic initiatives and consult across the portfolio. Your role will include delivering high-quality, thoughtful design solutions, user research coordination and ensuring timely delivery of specifications to engineering teams. This position also provides hands-on opportunities to design and contribute to business-critical products while helping to transform the product design team using the Product Operating Model (POM) framework. Essential Functions
- Lead the transformation of the product design team to align with the Product Operating Model (POM), empowering teams to collaboratively solve problems.
- Serve as a key member of the product leadership team, collaborating with Product Management to define and execute UX strategy.
- Drive an agile, user-centered product development process, supporting continuous validation and iteration based on user feedback.
- Manage design resource allocation and forecasting to align with cross-functional team deadlines; set quarterly goals and ensure their achievement.
- Oversee the design system, ensuring adherence, scalability and contributions from the team.
- Partner with engineers to ensure intuitive UX implementation and alignment with design specifications.
- Recruit, coach, and mentor a team of product designers, fostering technical and professional growth.
- Design and deliver customized learning paths for team development, contributing to best practices in Product Design, UI/UX and style guide documentation.
- Facilitate design critiques and team collaboration to improve design work and align goals.
- Present project status, decisions and processes clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Collaborate with clients via onsite and remote interactions to gain insights into workflows and drive impactful product improvements.
- Translate research, feedback and metrics into high-quality visual designs, user flows, and interaction prototypes.
- Participate in user research, interviews and usability testing to ensure a user-centered design process.
- Assist in validating final designs with product development teams to ensure specifications are met.
- Keep abreast of design trends, accessibility standards and user research best practices.
- Invent and refine scalable, reusable design patterns to incorporate into our Design Systems.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in SaaS product design.
- 3+ years of experience leading a team of UX and interaction designers.
- 3+ years of experience in Healthcare IT.
- Proven expertise in managing research, interaction, and visual design initiatives, driving high-quality user experience across complex product areas.
- Demonstrated leadership as a manager or supervisor, fostering a collaborative and innovative design environment.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and articulate complex design requirements to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in design principles, including visual hierarchy, proximity, similarity, typography
