About the role
OVRSEA is a digital freight forwarder competing to become a leader thanks to a strong tech approach (proprietary TMS). We’re now present in 14 countries with a revenue of 350M€.
OVRSEA has successfully launched and established its presence in Italy. After building the business from scratch, we are entering a new phase: scaling sustainably, improving profitability, and reinforcing our market position.
We are now looking for a talented Country Manager to lead OVRSEA Italy into its next chapter of disciplined growth and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the founders, you will take full P&L responsibility for the Italian entity and drive performance across sales and operations.Through a very entrepreneurial approach, your main objective is to contribute to OVRSEA’s European leadership.
🎯 Your Responsibilities
1️⃣ Full P&L OwnershipOwn revenue growth, gross margin, and EBITDA targetsImprove contribution margin per shipment and customerEnsure strict cost control and productivity per FTEBuild quarterly and annual strategic plans aligned with HQ
2️⃣ Revenue Acceleration & Customer ExpansionStrengthen our position in core verticalsImprove win rates and pipeline predictabilityEnsure disciplined pricing and margin protection
3️⃣ Team Leadership & Performance ManagementLead and develop a structured local team (Sales, BDR, Operations)Drive a performance culture with clear KPIs and accountabilityCoach managers and identify future leadersEnsure high retention of top performersRecruit where needed new top talent to the team
4️⃣ Operational ExcellenceCollaborate with central procurement and operations teams to improve service qualityOptimise trade lane strategy and carrier allocationImprove forecasting accuracy and capacity planningEnsure best-in-class customer experience
5️⃣ Strategic RepresentationAct as OVRSEA’s senior representative in ItalyMaintain relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholdersIdentify M&A, partnerships, or strategic expansion opportunities

Profile
- 10+ years of experience in demanding environments (freight forwarding, logistics, startup ...)
- Proven track record of scaling revenue beyond initial launch phase
- Strong financial acumen with clear understanding of P&L mechanics
- Data-driven and performance-oriented
- Adaptable, Comfortable operating in a structured yet entrepreneurial environment
- Humble, hard worker who is super enthusiast and shares our values (pedagogy)
- Native Italian speaker, fluent in English (French is a plus)
