Job Summary:

The F135 Engine Design and System Integration (EDSI) organization is seeking a self-starting individual with strong teamwork skills to support the F135 Program in the capacity of Mass Properties Managers.  In this role, the candidate will support and organize activities involving all F135 Mass Properties activities, interfacing with the internal component integrated product teams (CIPT), Program Office, airframe contractor, and the Joint Program Office (JPO) customer. 

The F135 Mass Properties Integration Manager is responsible for the management of mass properties (including part and overall propulsion system weight, center of gravity).  These properties are to be managed within the bill of material for the propulsion system. In addition, The F135 Mass Properties Integration Manager will support reviews, provide input, and coordinates with core weight/mass properties discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CIPT teams to manage weight changes associated with their hardware, provide reviews/approvals for weight impacts for Product/Engineering Changes
  • Manage the overall propulsion system weight and center of gravity (CG)
  • Preparation of propulsion system level reports for contract deliverables
  • Support the production engine weighing activities, including reviewing weight and CG results, addressing issues that may arise during engine weighing
  • Management of the weight bill of material (BOM) and mass properties files to support proper weight management and engine/propulsion systems loads assessments
  • Communicate technical topics with both Joint Program Office (JPO), Lockheed Martin, and P&W leaderships

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience with bachelor’s degree or 5 years with an advanced degree
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITC Focal JCL 2 with experience in export jurisdiction and classification.
  • Technical and strategic leadership experience
  • Experience in weight/mass properties management
  • Experience with Teamcenter navigating part models and associated mass properties

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
