This is a remote position.
We are looking for a Part-Time DevOps Engineer to take ownership of our AWS infrastructure across multiple projects and environments (staging and production). You will work closely with the development team to improve reliability, security, automation, and cost efficiency of our cloud systems.
This is a hands-on role focused on operational excellence, infrastructure organization, and deployment workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure

Manage and improve AWS environments using:

Amazon EC2

Amazon S3

Amazon RDS
-
Amazon API Gateway
-
AWS IAM
-
Amazon CloudWatch
-

Organize AWS accounts, environments, and access across projects
-
Ensure production systems are stable, secure, and scalable
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
-
Define and maintain infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation)
-
Automate provisioning, deployments, and environment setup
-
Standardize infrastructure patterns across projects
CI/CD & Deployment
-
Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines
-
Implement safe deployment strategies (staging, rollback, monitoring)
-
Reduce manual steps in release processes
Security & Access Control
-
Implement least-privilege access using IAM
-
Review and improve security practices across environments
-
Enforce proper separation between staging and production
Observability & Reliability
-
Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting
-
Improve incident detection and response
-
Help define SLAs and reliability practices
Cost Optimization

Monitor AWS usage and spending
-
Identify waste and optimize infrastructure costs

Propose cost-efficient architectural improvements
Documentation & Process

Document infrastructure architecture and workflows

Define operational best practices
-
Support developers with environment and deployment needs
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
-
Strong experience with AWS infrastructure
-
Experience managing production cloud environments
-
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
-
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
-
Linux server administration
-
Networking fundamentals (VPCs, security groups, routing)

Monitoring and logging systems
Nice to Have

Multi-account AWS architecture (Organizations, account isolation)

Containerization (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes)

Cost optimization experience

Experience with SaaS or web application environments
