Toolroom Supervisor - South Bend, IN

Job Overview

This position will be directly responsible for 2nd shift tool room, and all technicians. Duties include distribution of work orders, preventive maintenance directives, and emergency breakdowns in a high production manufacturing facility . This will also include daily pass downs and shift reports to other shifts as well as engineering

A Day In The Life

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Enforces company policies and safety regulations to workers .
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

What will help you thrive in this role?

• The ideal candidate will be well seasoned with all aspects of the tool room and tooling process. Must have a supervisory background. Supervisory experience in a union environment is a plus.
• 2 years minimum with Union Management experience
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

•  Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
•  Must be able to be mobile 4-6 hours per day.

• Production environment temperature can fluctuate.
• Production environment will attain increased decibel levels when production is running.
