ITW Deltar Fasteners is a large division within the Automotive Segment and serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners. Locations include:  Frankfort, IL;  Chippewa Falls, WI and our Commercial Sales and Engineering in Troy, MI.

This position is located in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Job Description

The Toolroom Manager – Deltar Fasteners will report to the Technical Engineering Manager - Deltar  Fasteners and will manage the construction and repair of all prototype and production injection molds. Plan, instruct, and lay out department work to see that molds are produced and/or repaired to meet customer, engineering and production performance standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate outside mold sourcing
• Review mold designs and appraise performance of all molds and outside mold vendors
• Troubleshoot and evaluate mold performance concerns and review with manufacturing
• Investigate new techniques and methods for mold construction
• Coordinate and interact with Engineering, Business Units, and outside mold vendors to produce quality molds in a timely manner, that fall within our cost estimates
• Interact with production personnel to improve and maintain acceptable production performance standards while being cost effective
• Interview and select applicants for hire, review performance for wage adjustments, promotion, transfer  or dismissal
• Coordinate all tool room activity
• Manage all tool room personnel
• Other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 4 year college degree in related field or its equivalent
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in injection molding, tooling and preventive maintenance
• Hands on experience with all type of conventional tool room machineries – lasers, grinding, milling, EDM
• In-depth familiarity with Plastic products and their applications acquired through 3 to 5 years in-house experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skill
• 80/20 mind set
• Capable of handling all type of molds
• Manual Precision work, attention to detail
• Analytical and problem solving ability
