Environmental Health & Safety Intern

Pennoni is hiring for an Intern join our growing EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) team on a full-time or part-time, direct basis while based at our office in New York, NY.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a variety of EHS projects: including Indoor Air Quality [IAQ] assessments, Right to Know audits, health and safety audits, vehicle safety audits, etc.
- Assist with inspections, remediation oversight, laboratory data interpretation, post-remediation clearances, and preparation of inspection & remediation oversight reports.
- Work independently on assigned projects in NJ as well as the surrounding areas (including Northern NYC)
- Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, EHS, Safety Management, Natural Science, or a related field of study or a recent graduate. Or a related field of study
This person will be expected to work regularly in the field and in the office, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License as well as Reliable Transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications (e.g.: Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proven ability to adapt / desire to learn new things while on the job.
- Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy & precision, especially while following established procedures (as-written).
- Proven ability to work independently in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while displaying excellent time management skills (i.e.: effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments).
- Technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); this person will be expected to maintain field notes that are legible, accurate, and detailed.
TARGET HOURLY RANGE: $20 - $30 (per hour)
