Job Description

BPG is looking for a motivated individual with fund accounting experience to work on the Finance and Operations team. This position is more than a typical accounting role as the team is also heavily involved in fund operations.

Initial Responsibilities:

  • Initial responsibilities include managing, reviewing, and participating in the entire fund operations and reporting process such as:

    • Review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP – Investment Company Accounting and IFRS

    • Manage the external audit and tax reporting processes with big 4 firms

    • Compile and analyze fund financial data and operating metrics for quarterly review presentations submitted to senior management and investors

    • Oversee the fund’s operations and credit facility maintenance

    • Manage all aspects of the fund’s books and records

    • Oversee and manage third-party fund administrator

    • Partner closely with service providers and outsource vendors

    • Ownership of the fund’s reporting and compliance processes, including but not limited to GAAP quarterly financial, annual audited financials, tax, and LP/GP reporting

    • Assist and coordinate with other departments to fulfill fund operations, reporting requirements and responding to inquiries from investors

    • Review management fee and waterfall calculations

    • Monitor liquidity and manage capital calls, facilitate distributions, and execute wires

    • Oversee investor reporting

    • Train, mentor and motivate members of the team

Requirements:

  • This position offers excellent opportunities in a dynamic environment. To qualify, candidates must have:

    • 8-10 years of experience with a mix of public/private accounting

    • Fund accounting experience required, PE Real Estate experience strongly preferred 

    • Ability to design financial processes and controls

    • Hands on and high standards for accuracy and quality; Thorough and meticulous with extreme focus on details

    • A strong leader and team player with ability to work and communicate effectively with senior executives

    • Can work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines

    • Ability to multitask with good time management skills to meet multiple reporting deadlines

    • Strategic thinker that can think outside the box, focused on efficiency and improving existing processes

    • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles and financial reporting technical skills

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Team oriented with good coaching skills

    • Experience with Investran a plus

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

    • Certified Public Accountant certification strongly preferred

Salary Range: $160,000 - $190,000

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
