Job Summary

Performs Human Resources-related duties independently or as assigned by the Sr Manager Human Resources in the following functional areas: employee relations, performance management, policy implementation, employee development, organizational talent assessment, management coaching and development, maintenance of employee records and employment law compliance. 

 

Note: Ideal candidate will commute to our Hobart, IN office location (M-F) and requires up to 10% travel domestically as assigned and/or needed by manager. Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership & Business AlignmentPartners closely with business unit leaders and managers to understand objectives, provide proactive HR guidance, and align talent strategies with business goals.

  • HR Advisory & CoachingServes as a trusted consultant to line management by providing guidance on performance management, employee relations, coaching, counseling, and career development.

  • Employee Relations ExpertiseEffectively manages complex employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism. Conducts thorough, objective investigations and recommends appropriate resolutions.

  • Data & Insights-Driven ApproachLeverages HR metrics and trends in collaboration with the broader HR team to develop targeted solutions, improve processes, and influence decision-making.

  • Compliance & Risk MitigationMaintains strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliant practices while minimizing organizational risk. Partners with Legal as appropriate.

  • Talent & Workforce PlanningProvides input and guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and restructuring initiatives, including reductions in force.

  • Employee Engagement & Culture BuildingWorks closely with leaders and employees to enhance engagement, strengthen relationships, build morale, and improve retention and overall productivity.

  • Policy Interpretation & CommunicationInterprets and applies HR policies consistently, ensuring leaders and employees understand expectations and company standards.

  • Compensation & Employment ActionsSupports the development and administration of offer letters, promotions, transfers, and other employment changes with accuracy and compliance.

  • Learning & Development EnablementIdentifies training needs across business units, supports development initiatives, and partners on evaluating program effectiveness to ensure desired outcomes.

  • Benefits & Employee SupportProvides guidance on benefits and supports employees through key processes such as onboarding, open enrollment, and leave management in partnership with HR specialists.

  • Global & Mobility SupportAssists with international assignments and expatriate matters, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Operational Excellence & Continuous ImprovementEnsures adherence to Daifuku Intralogistics QMS policies and procedures, contributing to process consistency, continuous improvement, and high-quality service delivery.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of broad human resource experience preferably in a manufacturing environment 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of human resources practices and employment law.  Professional Certification preferred 
  • 2-3 years' experience 
  • Skilled in fostering collaboration with peers, managers and employees in person and remotel
